These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the ArtStandards platform ("Platform"), operated by ArtStandards LLC, a Delaware limited liability company ("ArtStandards", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
These Terms apply to all users worldwide, including artists, buyers, and visitors. Use of the Platform is subject to compliance with applicable local laws.
ArtStandards is a SaaS application that provides professional tools for contemporary artists, including:
You must be at least 18 years old and have legal capacity to enter into binding contracts. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
ArtStandards reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or harm other users.
ArtStandards offers Free, Artist, and Studio subscription plans. Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. Prices are displayed in the currency of your choosing at checkout; local taxes may apply.
Payments are processed by Stripe (card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, SEPA) and Coinbase Commerce (cryptocurrency). ArtStandards does not store payment card data — all payment data is handled by our PCI-compliant processors.
Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the renewal date. You may cancel at any time from your billing dashboard. No refunds are issued for partial periods, except where required by applicable consumer law.
Checkout uses Stripe Connect in “Buyers purchase from you” mode: the buyer pays ArtStandards, which appears on the card statement / receipt and is responsible toward the buyer and Stripe for refunds and chargebacks, as detailed in the Terms of Sale. Payouts may then be sent to the artist’s connected Stripe account after the buyer return window. Founder / platform-owner accounts are charged 0% ArtStandards commission. Stripe’s platform duties (refunds, chargebacks, fines, seller review, risk support, seller fraud, negative Connect balances, Radar fees) are passed through to the artist for any matter arising from their account or sales.
Physical artworks are shipped by the artist within 5–15 business days. Risk of loss passes to the buyer upon delivery to the carrier. Buyers must report shipping damage within 48 hours with photographic evidence.
Digital deliverables (licenses, certificates, digital prints) are delivered immediately upon payment. No right of withdrawal applies once digital content has been accessed, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Prints: the artist is solely responsible for the HR file they upload, for paying the Fine Art / Prodigi (or other) lab, and for delivery or redelivery if the end buyer refuses the shipment. Any lab cost advanced by ArtStandards is clawed back.
The sale of a physical artwork transfers ownership of the physical object only. Copyright and reproduction rights are not transferred unless explicitly stated in a separate written license agreement.
Corporate licenses grant the buyer a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the artwork as defined by the license scope (territory, duration, media). Any use beyond the licensed scope constitutes copyright infringement.
Artists retain full moral rights and authorship over their works at all times. By uploading content to the Platform, artists grant ArtStandards a limited licence to display and promote that content solely for the purpose of operating the Platform.
ArtStandards issues digital certificates of authenticity based on information provided by the artist. The artist is solely responsible for the accuracy of the information certified. ArtStandards does not independently verify artwork authenticity or ownership.
Certificates use SHA-256 cryptographic fingerprinting and are immutable once issued. Revocation is available in cases of proven fraud or artist request.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ArtStandards shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or business opportunity, arising from your use of the Platform.
ArtStandards' total liability to you for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the greater of (a) the fees paid by you to ArtStandards in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) USD $100.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms shall first be submitted to informal negotiation by contacting legal@artstandards.org. If not resolved within 30 days, disputes shall be resolved by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Commercial Arbitration Rules, with proceedings conducted in English in Wilmington, Delaware.
EU residents: Nothing in these Terms affects your rights under mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence. You may also submit a complaint to the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
Class action waiver: You agree to resolve disputes on an individual basis only, and not as part of any class or representative action.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you by email and by posting a notice on the Platform at least 15 days before material changes take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
